And it all begins with bananas.

The other day I had a craving for bananas. I really wanted to eat a fresh one. At first, I hesitated because I’ve been deathly allergic to bananas ever since I was young. But something kept nudging me, telling me to eat one. Eat one Brooke, just eat one!

I didn’t eat one. Instead, I decided to drink a fresh banana smoothie. It was beautiful. I drank that smoothie in one gulp! I felt like a toddler who was given a new treat to taste for the first time. My eyes sparkled as my tummy smiled. The taste of the sweet banana was like a perfect first kiss. I wanted more but chose to wait, just in case. Then, I waited, and waited, and– nothing happened.

If this were sometime last year, I would’ve been wheezing in five seconds flat. Itchiness would have spread quickly throughout my mouth and throat. My esophagus, cheeks and tongue would be swollen. I definitely would’ve experienced some difficulty breathing, but to my surprise, absolutely nothing happened.

This miracle proves the power of healing, the power of holistic health, the power of creating goals and the power of achieving your goals. For years, I kept speaking it into the universe: that one day I would heal myself of all the dysfunctions within my body.

It feels like just yesterday that I chomped down on burgers and fries, smoked like a chimney, drank like a well, and treated my body like a landfill. I had countless health issues, ranging from the physical to the mental. In those days I always felt horrible and I never really knew why. I blamed everyone and everything but myself. Still, I continued with my unhealthy ways until I realized how I was affecting my own life – how I was keeping myself from truly living. Then, I decided to take a leap into the unknown and, changed for the better.

To know that I, Brooke, healed myself of something is not only physically rewarding, but is also mentally, emotionally and spiritually uplifting. It’s a reminder that I’m on the right path in my life.

On top of my abstinence from questionable, processed foods, I give all the credit and gratitude of my recovery to God and the Universe for listening to me, and providing the tools necessary to overcome this. My cup of joy continues to overflow because God has blessed our Earth with Mother Nature – and without her, I wouldn’t have the resources I need to heal and blossom.

Presently, I am on a mission to heal another internal illness of mine. With God by my side, and the sprout of optimism I received from ingesting a banana smoothie without passing out, I am sure that pain, setbacks, and any other nonfactors will not keep me from reaching this goal.

Analyze the nonfactors in your life that have prevented you from achieving that thing, and draw up a plan to face one or two of these obstacles. Through facing one after another, that goal that you’ve been putting on the back-burner will eventually become easier to achieve.

I don’t know what your metaphysical or spiritual beliefs are, and you’re free to follow whatever number of doctrines and lifestyles there are in our world. All I know is that once I applied God to my life, and accepted his angels and Mother Nature into my life, everything else began to fall into place.

To see my goal come into fruition is an amazing feeling.
